What if my client's dentist isn't part of the network?
Part of becoming a 'network provider' is agreeing to charge members no more than allowed on the directACCESS fee schedule. Members must receive care from a contracted provider to receive discounts. If your client would like to refer their dentist to become a network provider our provider relations department would be happy to contact them and work through the contracting process. Simply contact our office to begin this process.
Are the discounts legitimate?
When comparing discount programs, make sure to ask yourself if the discount is credible. It is easy to ask providers to give a percentage discount off of some arbitrary billed rate that can change at any time. But, there's no guarantee that actually has value for your client. directACCESS utilizes the same fee schedules as Dentist Direct and other large employers and insurers. Each provider agrees to a set fee for each procedure, not just some arbitrary 'percentage off' a regular 'billed' rate.
What if I get a 'cash discount' when I visit the dentist?
Providers will frequently give a 'cash discount' if you pay for services up-front and don't require that they bill a third-party insurer. However, this is a negotiation that happens one-on-one with the dentist. directACCESS is able to negotiate lower fees by offering the dentist access to thousands of members. Why would a dentist give the same 'deal' to a single person that he gives to a large network that can bring them hundreds of new patients?
What if my dentist offers me a 'free' exam or some other promotion to just work with him/her directly?
Regardless of whether you sell directACCESS, be very wary of a dentist that offers this type of an approach. Dentists are profit-driven, just like every other business, and if they are encouraging you to work with them directly, you lose the ability to know if you are going to always get a valuable discount. It is easy to discount cheap procedures (i.e. cleanings, x-rays, take home whitening, etc.), only to make you pay more when it really matters. Saving a few dollars on an exam or x-ray is not worth paying hundreds more when you need to receive expensive procedures (crown, denture, bridge, etc.).
Can I sign up my client for a few months so they can get their dental work done and then cancel?
directACCESS memberships are 12 month memberships. We allow members to pay annually or in monthly installments. If a member chooses to pay monthly, there is a non-refundable $20 one-time setup fee and they are obligated to make 12 monthly payments. Early cancellation fees may apply.
What is the 30-Day money back guarantee?
Members can cancel within 30 days of enrollment and we will refund 100% of their membership fees, no questions asked. However, if they choose to pay monthly, the one-time setup fee is non-refundable.
